At the heart of Project Bookmark Canada are our Bookmarks themselves: permanent markers displaying text from stories and poems. These markers are set in the location where the stories or poems take place. All Bookmarks share the same design. This means that they can be appreciated individually, but also recognized as a series with a unified intent: to highlight and celebrate the stories that are embedded in our everyday geography.
The design of the Bookmarks echoes the typewriter key theme of our Project Bookmark Canada logo, using the circular, green “B” key as a recurring motif. The "B" appears in the upper left corner of the marker, above black text on a white background. The Bookmarks are ceramic, approximately the size of an average poster, and are mounted on metal posts.
